While reading some of my forums today I cam across this thread about Circuit City deals for next week (March 2nd - March 8th, 2008). There is a lot of fluff, but in there it has two big deals.
- ” TheWii IS listed in this week’s ad on Page #1 // Limited Quantities // No rain checks // Limit 1 per household // Minimum 15 per store // Get your warm winter overcoat & mittens on early to get yours” So if you are one of those people that still needs a Wii before Brawl comes out, here is your chance. Which brings us to
- “Pre-Order Super Smash Brothers Video Game for the Wii Gaming System and Receive a $10 Gift Cardwhen you pick up the game // Game available in store 3/9/08 // $5 Deposit required to reserve your copy.” This is awesome because I am going to buy the game anyway, at least I can get some free credit for it.
There is a lot more in the tread about DVD’s on sale and CD’s but nothing quite as exciting as this.
The last thing that now that HD-DVD has given up as a format, the HD-DVD played add on to the XBOX 360is now only 50 bucks. If I had an XBOX 360 I would probably buy this for the fact you can netflix the movies and don’t need to invest more than just $50 in this dead format.

I love my wii don’t get me wrong, but to be honest things have been disappointing as of late. The only things to look forward for on the console have been repetitively pushed back *cough*Smash Brothers *cough* . This is something to get excited about again.
Nintendo announced a pay and play type channel, similar sounding to the XBOX live. You will be able to pay extra for certain games to play online like MMOS and also to be able to buy additional content for games that you already own. This explains why all of a sudden a Wii Rock Band becomes probable out of no where. When that does come out, much to the displease of my neighbors, I am going to buy.
There is still a lot of time and not enough info for Nintendo to mess this up and it not be worth the hype (like American Idol)
The other big Wii news last week was the Commodore 64 games are coming to the virtual console. I for one am stoked. I grew up playing the C64 and I am glad to see its return.

Now you all know I have never been to a geeky convention (*cough* Botcon *cough*) but this is one I would want to go to.
But since I did not get to go here are my highlights.

Do you ever wonder what happens to people when their careers wash up? I know I do. I was watching Cash Cab todayand thinking what is Ben Bailey going to do when the show gets cancelled. I mean i know its a good show, my grandfather won’t even pick up the phone when its on, but eventually they will all get cancelled.
The most likely scenario is he will probably go back to doing bit roles like as a security guard on Mad TV (Hopefully though that will be cancelled as well) and sleeping with old women that still remember him from the cash cab.
Then there is every washed up comics dream. Hosting a prime-time gameshow!! I mean Bob Saget, Howie Mandel (all of your shows can’t be as good as Bobby’s world. Sorry its true.), and that terrible guy on my dad is better than your dad. I mean this is the Holy Grail for washed up comics.
But what I am hoping will happen is he will just continue as the show is still on the air (even though it isn’t). It doesn’t have to be in Manhattan, since he probably can’t afford that anymore, but it would have to be some sort of metropolis. If not, the locals would know he’s a faker fast. But really he would just be driving around asking questions from back in his prime as a tv show host. He would probably have abused enough drugs and alcohol by that point to not really remember most of the answers to the questions he’s asking, but really that’s not even the point to him anymore. In my opinion this would be even more fun than the actual show was.
He’s just a sad man driving around a cab, trying to relive the good old days just as many other washed up actors. (Except they don’t have cabs.)

I really want to start a wiki, but lets be honest, I am a very interesting guy, but not interesting enough to have my own wiki. Well thats not really true, I am interesting enough, but not enough people know me to write in it.
So really I need an idea of something fun. This is not on the top of my priority list, but i do think it would be fun to do.
I can add this to my long list of web projects that I want to start.

I downloaded Object Dock for my work computer and I have to say I am a believer. This is one of the best web 2.0 programs I have ever used. Object dock is basically a program for shortcuts. It doesn’t sound that impressive but let me explain.
- First lets compair to Del.icio.us. A greast website, that I use daily. (for those of you unfamiliar with Del.icio.us, it is a social bookmark website. Wikipedia has a great explanation.) But this isn’t just for website shortcuts, ObjectDock is on your desktop and can be used very well for shortcuts to websites you check daily. (My list of Internet shortcuts is Briancarl.com, Digg.com, and of course Del.icio.us, which honesty i visit more than the last two.)
- Then the next obvious comparison is the Mac. It looks like a Mac and feels like a Mac, but with all the positives of using a PC. The big difference here is that you can use ObjectDock to link to your programs on your hard-drive. (I link to Word, Photoshop, My Documents, plus others) You can even have it run on the bottom of your screen and have the Windows Start bar hide and this will completely replace it. (although I would not recommend this)
- The biggest plus not listed on here is that Object Dock can be made to hide when it is not in use and then show up when you hover. I use mine on the right side of my screen and when the time comes hover it and it pops out no problem so I don’t have to minimize everything I am running so that I can open something new.
- One of the most important feature of any applicatio, the interface. ObjectDock has such a clear and very customizable interface. You can download new skins, but ObjectDock comes with great options as is. (I use Glass Vista) The best feature of the skins is that you can make them transparent. My good friend Carter (who turned me onto ObjectDock) doesn’t even know what skin he uses anymore, because he has it fully transparent.
- Last but not least the internet shortcuts that we talked about earlier will open in a new tab if you are using Firefox.
Summary download ObjectDock
P.S. That is my cat on the background of my desktop. No I don’t think that it is girly to do that.

As you can tell Google Adsense on my site. The inner page Adsense I have up now i think is annoying and will leave shortly, but the Adsense on the right , which is on all the pages, seems okay. I’m sure there is another way to do the comment one if need be.
Any-who Just so everyone knows I in no way think this website will make money from ads or even wish to attempt that. This is really just a learning site for me before diving into other Internet adventures.
Regardless I think my next adventure in web is going to be to start an online book club. The basis is simple really, just a web page and a book a month and then try get people to post with me on the book. The problem I am facing now is how specific of a theme do I want and then after figuring that out, what to name it. Any input would be appreciated. Also for this site I am toying with using an Amazon affiliates account. From there I am also wondering if i should go with straight referral or do a store, but that is not here nor there. I need a site before discussing that. As this progresses I am sure you will get continuous updates here.
From then I am not sure either. I want to start a real blog, but I am not sure on what. This is just sort of random thoughts that pop into my head. As you can tell from there I just blog a few lines. Oddly enough this is probably the largest post I have made. (Thats what she said {doesn’t make sence})

As per an IM from carter, this is also up there in the coolest things, I am really impressed.
The first cool thing is really the multi touch screen. The power mac touch pad has a similar thing that is awesome. The fact that you can zoom and move with the touch of a button is cool and this is such a huge improvement. Not to mention its really about time they made furniture functional and not just for women.
I can’t wait for this to come out and so I can not be able to afford it. Really I know if i ever had it i would just want to make plans and schemes and act like I am in the military, but more like Starship Troopers style military and all I can say is if I had this table I would slaughter those bugs and then watch the table do funky things with my victory drink. (note i didn’t say Halo, because Halo really is just a bad version of Starship Troopers. I mean really, does Halo have Co-Ed showering? I thought not.)
