So I was going to write a post here saying that I gave Carter and Jesse posting privileges to the website here, but I realized you guys are the only readers. So you guys already know or will when you check your e-mail.

Well i apologize about not posting frequently as of late. The move to Hartford is now complete and we have internet again. Once things settle down the posting will come back as will I am sure the heckling.

Although I haven’t given my job my 2 weeks yet, I have given them my notice that I will be leaving. Yesterday I got an e-mail asking me to post my own job on our websites. It was a weird feeling, almost like faking your own death and then watching the funeral.

I think the best part about it though was how terrible they made my job sound. It had things like must be proficient with Windows. Listen, if you don’t know how to work windows you shouldn’t be working at all, let alone with online content.

If there is one word that describes Brian Carl it is…well…..patriotic. Okay well that is not true, but I was a patriot this weekend and blew my entire economic stimulus check buying an XBOX. I must say this was a great experience. I purchased GTA IV and Tony Hawk Project 8 along with multiple accessories including a pink controller for the lady. (Yes she did request it, but I probably would have bought it anyway.) I have yet to open Tony Hawk.

I have to say GTA really lived up to the hype behind it. I have barley cracked the surface of the storyline, but there are huge improvements from San Andreas. One of the biggest additions is the stealth moves. You hit a button and hide behind a wall or pole and pop out when you are shooting. Also now you can shoot your front window out of your car and shoot 180 degrees out of the car. No more are the days of just shooting left or right. 

The biggest improvement though was the multi-player. There are so many modes in it but the 2 that are my favorite is the plain old death match and the GTA Race. I have to say I expected the deathmatch when they announced that GTA had online, but not the racing. The GTA race is awesome, the last on i played in one of the competitors just left his car and spent the whole time hunting people down and messing them up. The death match is pretty straight forward. shoot to kill.

The other game I am really into on the XBOX is UNO. Call me lame or call me stupid, but man I love playing UNO and for some reason it feels less pathetic if I am playing with other people online, although i know its not.

So in short this weekend I became two things I never saw coming, an XBOX owner and a patriotic American.

People on Digg are rallying to Rickroll the Mets.

I find this hillarious. The mets are doing a vote for the 8th inning sing-a-long and they are trying to get people to write in “Never Gonna Give You Up - Rick Astley”.

I first heard about this campaign on BOL, but I didn’t look it up until now. I sure hope it works. I will get such a kick out of this at the next Mets game I go to if it plays. I am sure it won’t happen, but never underestimate the power of nerds, especially Nerds in Numbers!

Every once in a while I get obsessed with certain things, some call it an addictive personality. 

So I haven’t posted in a while, basically because I started watching Jericho. It’s only been a few days but I have 3 episodes left in the series.  When it is fully finished I’ll let you know if it was as amazing as the rest of the series, but the show was cancelled so I don’t know if it ends abruptly.  We can always hope for a movie, like with Serenity.

The premise of the show is that nuclear bombs were used to destroy more than 20 cities in the USA and is focused on the town of Jericho.  The psychographics of the show are great, how some people react to the fact that no one is coming to help them, but I digress. I am not going to go into crazy details, just watch it.

I will go as far as to say that Jericho is as good, if not better, as Lost before it jumped the shark.

Just a quick Smash Brothers Update. The problems with the online play seem to be universal. I hope this is something that will be resolved soon. Apparently this was a problem with Smash Brothers in Japan as well. I can’t wait for the pay-to-play model to finally come to the Wii.

Which Brings me to Mario Kart Wii. It is dated officially for April 27th. There are a lot of sweet things that this game has added from the past ones and Nintendo has yet to disappoint me on one of their Classic game series.

* The first awesome thing is Mii integration. Honestly I don’t see why more games don’t have this option.

Second 16 person online play. This is the first game on the Wii that handles that many players at once.

I have heard rumors Mario Kart will be the first game to use the pay to play model. I don’t mind throwing a few Wii points around if it means a better online play, because so far it has been really sub par.
